AN OBITUARY
« on: September 26, 2008, 11:48:20 PM »
This may not interest any of you but I thought it would be a good way too do it.
I have/had a friend that died this Monday. He was alone in this world. No wife left, no children.

James E. Wyatt
1930-2008
Born in Warren, Indiana
Died in St Joseph Hospital Houston, Texas
MSGT--US Army
Retired 20 years of service.
POW in Korea for 1 year.
Field promotions too the rank of Major--retired permanent grade of Master Sgt.
preceded in death by his wife.

I had the pleasure of knowing Jim for a number of years. He was a hard nut too like, but then, such is the disposition of my own personality.
He was a diabetic--which was the cause of his death.
I had the pleasure of taking care of his affairs for the last three months while he was hospitalized.
We had his remains cremated and placed in the mausoleum wall at the Houston Veterans Cemetery, as was his final request.
I wrote this because no one knows--or does anyone really care. His passing stopped no clocks or caused flags too go too half-mast.
He was my friend and he was a friend of this country so I thought I would tell you.
Blessings

It's good of you to acknowledge this American Veteran/Hero as he so well deserved.  Hats off to his memory and legacy and hats off to you Mr. Layton.  I hope he is joyfully reunited with his wife and his old buddies in heaven.

You know, when you boil it down to it's smallest part all we can hope for in life is to have lived the kind of life that will leave some sort of legacy when we are gone.
Major Wyatt was just that kind of man.
We should all aspire to be that kind of person.

A friend of the family will be buried tomorrow. His name was Paul Pippin, WW11 vet, wouned in France. He was blown over 30 ft in the air from a shell, according to witnesses. He landed 20 ft down in a well, took a lot of recovery. All the other men in his immediate area were killed. Some men saw this and rescued him. God bless you Paul. WE owe these brave men our very existence. POWDERMAN.  :( :( :( :( :( :(
