Welcome dieselmechanic.

I think you are referring to the BLACKHORN 209, and the answer is both yes and no.

Yes, if you have a sealed 209 ignition. The NEF 209 ignition is not sealed and therefore is not reliable in my testing.

No, if you have any other ignition type such as #11, musket cap, small rifle primer.

Thank you for the information. I just purchased a sidekick, great gun. First time out used 2 50 grain pellets with a Hornady saboted load. Great results at 100 yards for a muzzleloader. Averaging 11/2 to 2. Certainly deer accurate. I was just looking for an alternative powder. After reading the information in the link, it appears triple 7 and Blackhorn 209 preform very similar the difference appears to be in cleaning, residue after shots and non corrosive. Three big keys. Thanks again.
