I love my CZ75b .
I enjoy collecting guns, swaping and staying up on all the newest models. I deer, quail, squirrel and rabbit hunt.

Best 9 is the one that you have in your hand when you need it.

Agreed, Someone once said:   The quest to find the "best" shall be un-ending.  (or something like that)

My favorite, however, is my Tuarus PT111 Millenium Pro.
Just cause it was my first pistol... Small, inexpensive, reliable, cheap to shoot, and lifetime warranty.
Dignified? I signed up for brave and courageous, not dignified!

An old Colt 1911 in a 9MM, Guts slicked up by a GOOD Smith, hand engraved with silver or gold inlay. Good, old Ivory handles.
Blessings

I'm wanting to pick up a 9mm, was wondering what everybody's opinion is on the best 9mm ever?
The Browning Hi-Power is thought by many to be the best single-action 9mm ever designed, and it has quite a history.  I believe John browning built this design after building the M1911 - the way Browning wanted to build this design, but also how he thought the M1911 should have been done without the Army's insistance in including the palm-safety built into that pistol.

Plus when the Nazis overran Europe in WW2, they simply put their stamp and eagle on the FN Hi-Power's and started issueing them to their officers!

For a SA 9mm the Hi-Power would be my first and only choice.

In a double-action and based on their popularity and abundance of aftermarket parts and hi-cap mags, I too like the Glock G19.

My beretta M9 did pretty good at the range yesterday.  I was very pleased with it.  Made some hits on some 10" x 10" targets at 100 yards.  More missed than hit, but it's a good little 9mm.

It's near impossible to state which is "the best", since there are too many variables and personal needs and tastes. You should probably shoot, or at least handle a few to see what best suits your needs. Today's high quality production guns come off the shelf with some of the extras that older guns needed a gunsmith to provide. Feeding hollowoints, triggers, combat sights, light rails, durability and light weight and smaller sizes. For what it's worth, these are in my battery:

Glock 17
Glock 26
Browning Hi Power
Sig 226

Some others that I have shot that have been excellent are:

Kahr
Berretta 92
S&W M&P

Lots of choices, and I'm not sure that you could go wrong with any of them. You just need to pick one that works for you.

Sig 226/229

If I had to settle for something else I'd chose a Beretta 92F

Another vote for the Glock 17.
