A little off topic
« on: September 28, 2008, 03:20:52 PM »
If this is not allowed  mods please delete or move. This seems like a well rounded group of guys.  Other than H&R's  do you guys like to collect other rifles?   here are a few of my "Middle East conflict  Ak's"  First picture left to right is a Romanian Ak wearing a furniture set from a Israel captured PLO rifle. The other is a 1967 Romanian underfolder. This is also my birth year. :)

second picture top to bottom (1) Maadi Egyptian with RPK furniture,  (2) The above mentioned Maadi crutch PLO furniture AK,  (3) Khyber pass AK (the one like bin ladden has been seen shooting in videos)
(4) Maadi crutch side folder clone.

The knives came from Afganistan via my father in law. :)  The black knife is totally evil and is the most balanced knife I have ever owned.  The other has brass inlays and a nice heat treatment with brushed clay marks.

Anyone else collect military weapons and knives?

Again if this type of post is not allowed please move delete.

Will,

Just my opinion and I am "new here" but not new to the collecting arena.  I can't see why it would be deleted.  Looks like Milsurps to me!  Some flavor old some flavor "newer".

Those Ak variants are just like a M1 Carbine....you pull the trigger once and it goes boom.  They happen to look cooler though!

I currently have a PLO kit which has been built, an AMD-65 and AMD 63.  I have to admit the PLO kit looks WAY cool as it is definately a milsurp and saw action.  The AMD-63 is my next favorite as I do prefer the fixed stock for firing an type of accuracy.  Built by Ken at Global so you know they are fabulous.

Have fun with your milsurps....I think they look great!  We all have a flavor we like and some of us are like Neopolitan ice cream......we have many flavors in one roof!

P.S.  I do have H&R's but I bought htose through an 01 FFL  :D ;)  I think you meant C&R's which means Curio and Relic.  This is defined as an "interesting historical value or 50 years old or older".

Now that is one fine bunch of Kalashnikovias ya got there.  Don'tcha just love the basic AK or AKS - you can dress them however you want and they all look good.

What you need now is one of the NHMs and change the furniture on it to make it handle easier.

Gotta ask ya though - didja take out some stock in the Russki Ammo business (lololol)???

Tim - thanks for moving this one on down so we can all get a good look at that collection.  Mikey.

Those plo kits are going thru the roof. Wish I would have gotten several and put them up.  Here is a Ak I put together myself from left overs from a AMD65 ,Vz58, and some bulgarian and romanian parts. I let a budy talk me out of my AMD 65.  The gun in the picture was built to play with a supressor I have. It does pretty good you can shoot it without muffs all day. can you post a pic of the AMDs?
