How were you into muzzleloading before? If you're used to traditional sidelock rifles, those inlines are gonna leave you feelin' kinda funny. They handle like a modern boltaction, and if that's your bag, go for it. For what it's worth, inlines are not "new"; I've seen pictures of an inline flintlock, which would pretty well argue for 18th Century, maybe even the 17th. It's just not what we're used to seeing.
Also, for what it's worth, the inlines available today (some of 'em are even blister-packed. Really!), the quality seems to be pretty good, and they shoot satisfactorily and are safe, at least if you follow the rules. One negative note: a fellow was next to me at the range a while back...he was using an inline with saboted pistol bullets, and he was having a devil of a time ramming them home. Those puppies were TIGHT! I don't know if this is a universal condition or not.

You'd have to check the catalogues; a lot of things change in ten years. I was out of it for about 20 years, and I couldn't believe what had happened! So many items dropped, 'way too many people had died, and the PRICES! Oy, vay!
The upside is the 'Net; most places are online now, so you don't have to go through the routine of mailing off for paper catalogues, at least not at first. When you've got a good idea of who's got stuff you're interested in, get a paper catalogue and curl up in your armchair with it and a notebook.
Going through the posts in this site should give you enough names to get started in finding out what's available.

Hey Michiganian!

I'm from Clinton Township... around 10 miles north of Detroit. Here is a list of Michigan dealers for the H & R Huntsman. They cost around $150.

Here is the link to H & R...  check out their muzzleloader & click on to their forums ( H & R Talk link is near the top)

Another good buy out there is the Knight Wolverine II 22" barrel ($199)

You might also check with Doc White at http://www.whitemuzzleloading.com/.  He has a Rossi that he has worked on and improved and some other rifles that might interest you.

Click on the link that says custom, refurbished, used on the left side of the page.  The Rossi is about 80% down on the page linked.
