House defeats bailout...

The House of Representatives defeats the bailout 205-228 today...
I'm voting 3rd party in this election by writing in Jesus Christ for president.  Sadly even if this were an option most of you would still vote Republican because "It's a two party system."

The Dow was down more than 500 points after the voting ended.

I'm glad I think but am concerned about what Bush will now do. There have been many predictions of him declaring marshal law and stopping the upcoming election so he can stay in power and run things as a dictator and this might be the trigger he has been waiting for.

It is hard for me to believe they actually didn't pass it. I guess I honestly never even considered that was possible. I have to wonder if the ride is about to get REAL BUMPY.

Down here most gas stations are still out of gas and those few that do have it are much higher than before the hurricane even tho the price of a barrel of oil is way down where it was.

My thoughts about the bailout...

How often does congress EVER act this quickly on anything?  Something about this was very fishy to me.  My feelings are that somebody was getting ready to make a LOT of money, very, very quickly... With little or no, inspection, regulation, overwatch or anything...

I don't forsee Bush declaring marshall law, to stay in power.  It usually seems like a president can make more money as an "advisor" or speaker after his term in office than he did in office, with none of the responsibilities or headaches of leading.  I'd say Bush is ready to build his library, and go back to his "oil" business.
