Yeah... if she's evil incarnate...lets just ignore anything she has to say...  IMHO Swampman has a poster of her taped to the back of his closet door and kisses it every night before he goes to sleep... Your a socialist Swampman... just admit it...

"...but I do not believe she has the authority to declare martial law."

Do you not take the time to read people's posts on here?  Matt just spent 10 mins of his time outlining what "CONGRESSIONAL Martial Law" is... and you can't even take 1min. to read through the post and find out what it actually is?  You tried Matt... You tried... (shakes head)

Does this even deserve a reply???  Here goes... PALIN IS NOT SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE!  If something happens to Bush and Chaney today, Pelosi will be acting president...  PALIN HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.

Did you pay ANY attention in Social Studies class?  I mean... This is stuff my 6th grade nephew has already learned...

Those of us who are well informed, and who think before we talk make those who just talk nervous and unsure of their position.  That's ok, I'm use to dealing with that on a daily basis.

"Goobers" is just a term I use for the uninformed and mentally challenged.  There are other terms, but those tend to me thought of as insulting or demeaning.

We don't want to be thought of as mean spirited.

I'm pretty sure we still have Freedom of Speech.  But who knows there may be an amendment to that tucked away somewhere in the new bailout bill.  Guess we won't know until after they have voted, heck they probally won't either given they won't even get a chance to read most of it.

Personally I'm not overly concerned about Congressional Martial Law.  I've been expecting what's happening right now, since I was a child.
AS i said I did not know how it worked. Now that i have read the rules, if correct
i think every one should and BETTER be concerned, any thing can come from a closed door

Rex6666 as I understand it, what Matt posted is basically the cliff notes version but pretty well sums it up.  It is nothing more than another unconstitutional action against the original premise of checks and balances and should be looked upon as cause for revolution if we intend to maintain an iota of freedom.

Anyone who doesn't take this seriously probably doesn't deserve their freedom any way.  If there had been more people around like Swampman when this country was first being developed we would be bowing to an inbred king or queen yet today.  It takes bravery to uphold what is right and cowardice to ignore it.

When I was growing up in school I was naive enough to think that all of the problems that could happen to a country had already happened to ours.  We fought and gained our freedom, we fought against slavery, and we fought for women's rights.  We survived the cold war and the great depression.  I honestly thought all of our troubles were in the past and I was lucky enough to be born into a country at a time when all was wonderful.  I made the mistake of thinking we had learned from our past mistakes.  I hate to say this, but I agree with you.  I think that what is going on is 'cause for revolution', and unless there is a drastic change in policy, revolution is probally the only way we will save this country.

If this rescue plan does go through I believe there will be some serious retribution from the constituents that get it.  If we are to maintain capitalism alive we have to endure the tougher times that lie ahead and keep the Feds out of it.  Passing this bill will send us further down the slippery slope to Socialism.  Any wonder why Germany, France, and Great Britian are calling for our Congress to get this done.  As a Congressman from Georgia put it, "this is a cow pattie with a marshmallow center!"  I have my doubts about the marshmallow.  Americans have to start learning to live within their means and it starts at the top with our government.  The candidates make a big deal about ear marks, but it's spending on all of the entitlement programs that is out of hand.   >:(

Does anyone know if the Senate falls under Congressional Martial Law?  I know they are part of Congress, but Nancy is just the Speaker of the House, does she really control the Senate also??

My congressman voted wrong both our senators voted correctly. Come election time I will remember that wrong vote by Mike Rogers. It looks like he will be getting a second chance to do it right when the senate passed bill gets to him. If he votes right this time I might forgive but otherwise I'll be voting against him in any and all future elections he runs in.

I really think the final outcome on this is a given and I do not think any amount of uproar by us is gonna change the outcome. The folks in congress and all elected officials for that matter are far more worried about the folks providing their funding than they are the folks doing the voting.

We the voters, our kids, grand-kids and so on are the ones who are providing funding for this fiasco.  We as voters however have no choice in how such funding is appropriated.  This is why our so-called "officials" don't feel the need to give a damn about the voters in the first place.  This lack of accountability is what gives a witch like Pelosi practically unlimited power.

I fear the same for my Rep, Greybeard.  If JoAnn Emerson's vote is wrong, i will cast my vote for the other person on the ticket.

I live with a real conspiracy theorist who I have thought was crazy for the last couple of years.  He has been SCREAMING this was gonna happen to anyone who would listen.  In knowing his track record of being right about this subject, I don't believe we will have any elections anytime soon.  Just my opinion though.  Sure hope we are wrong.

I would say that I wouldn't vote at all, but I "think" that under Congressional martial law you HAVE to vote.
