Deerfield 44 Mag weaver base
« on: August 05, 2003, 07:18:03 AM »
Does anybody have any experience putting a weaver base on a Deerfield?  I want to mount a Bushnell Holosight on my Deerfield but one gunsmith said it couldn't be done.  I understand Weigand makes a mount that is supposed to work but I'm looking for someone who has done it.  Any suggestions??

I'd double check on the Weigland application. Not sure if the Ruger handguns and Ruger rifle have the same ring spacing. The ring heights are the same (only a few combinations) but the spacing may be different. Don't know :?

Buckshot,

Just researched the exact weaver mount for my friends Deerfield, there is no gunsmithing needed, it's made by Weigand, you set the base on top of your receiver and tighten down the 4 screws, then you can mount your weaver style rings for the holo. I put a similar one on my Ruger super redhawk to mount a red dot scope. You can get this from a company called Brownells, their phone number is 1800-741-0015, the part number you need is 957-000-032, cost around $50.00, good luck
