No idea how much info you are looking for, but basically its a 243 Win case expanded to quarter bore and blown out a little to an improved shoulder.   Shoots 100 gr. pills about 3300+, making it faster than either the 243 or 243AI with 100's.   complete specs on it are in the Ackley Vol. II.
Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus

The .257 Durham Jet is formed from the .243 case. It has almost the identical case capacity as the .257 Roberts. Just a guess, but I would also think you could resize .257 Roberts brass to fire in the Durham Jet.

The 257 Roberts comes from the 7X57 Mauser.    Case dimensions and lengths are considerably different between the 243 & 257 Bob... would mean a lot more work even if the 257 Roberts brass could be used for the 257 DJ.   243 brass would be easier.

Ladobe,
I have have every reason to believe you are correct and I should not have made that statement without checking case dimentions. You really have to be carefull what you say around here, there are just to many people that know too much.  :-[

Catfish,

I took your suggestion as it was intended, only to help out, so there is nothing to feel bad about pard.   All I was doing too, trying to help.

Just some of us have been at it so long that we've crossed those bridges so many times over the years that things are sometimes remembered.   Been reloading since the late 50's - where the heck did the time go?
