The fall frenzy??
« on: August 05, 2003, 11:44:57 AM »
I think the fall frenzy has started already the past few days have been awesome and the very first topwater action here too.  For weeks i have watched action in the lilly pads something was tearing it up chasing baitfish and i caught it this morning a 25" pickerel at first I thought it was a large bass it fought so hard.  I had to make a long cast and the fight lasted a long time.   The bassproshops  Topnocker has to be the best topwater bait I have ever used.   Like Skipper says there is so many ways to use one bait.  I cast it out let it sit till the rings are gone then pop it making short pops and it like stays in one spot and goes up and down and knocks away and i work it very slow all the way in.  My second way is using it like a spook and walk it all the way in. My third way just kills fish they just go nuts I cast it out pop it them hold my rod tip down making it dive under the water while reeling so it actually looks like its swimming for about 2 to 3 feet the stop and let it pop up.   This is one killer topwater bait I'm using the larger one in color #25 and a couple of shots of baitmate bass scent.                                             BigBill

The bite is finally on due to bad weather/ no weeds/ low PH and now after a few weeks of sun we have weeds and better oxygen so the fish are active finally!!!!!!    I seen a bass swimming like a drunkin sailor due to bad PH it sure has changed.
