TC Encore 7 Rem Mag Barrel

I have mounted a scope, for a friend of mine, on a 7 Rem Mag barrel. I have not had any experience with an Encore and a belted magnum cartridge.
When closing the action, the belt hangs on the extractor and you have to slam the action together to close it. Is this normal with a belted magnum? Is there a way to close it without having to slam it shut so the belt will ride over the extractor?

i got a 7 mag encore same thing happens with mine. gun shoots fine,
and the cases eject. i hope sothers chime in dan

The cases eject?  When did that start?  I never heard of Encore cases ejecting.

I have heard of people bending the extractor out of the way of the magnum belts.

I don't have any belted magnums, because of this issue.

I am glad the Encore doesn't have an ejector.

I had a NEF Handi rifle in 243 Win for a very short time and I didn't like the ejector among other things on it.
