Sabot and pistol bullets
« on: October 06, 2008, 02:44:49 PM »
I was wondering if any one buys sabots separate from the bullets and if so recommendations on easy loading sabots. The reason I ask this is because with my old 44 mags I used sierra bullets and really like them and would like to use them in my muzzleloader. Will this work or is it a bad idea?

Harvestor Crush Rib sabots are fast becoming the most popular sabot for a lot of guys, easy to load and great accuracy.  Price isn't too bad either.  Depending on the bore diameter and general condition of the bore itself, any kind of sabot may be easy to load.  Best thing is to get a couple of different ones and see what you like the best.

I am going to order the Dead Center Sabots soon. I just found them.

All I have ever shot is the .44 bullets. My farthest I have shot was 70 yards, deer was DOA.
