S&W mod 38 air weight
« on: October 09, 2008, 03:11:37 AM »
I carry a mod. 38 air weight every day . The one i have/had been using got loose on the crane where the cyl. pin goes thru. with the cyl. closed you can move the cyl alot side to side at the front of the cyl. but the crane to frame fit is solid .
With the cyl. open you can nove the front of the cyl alot more and crane to frame is still solid . One gun smith said it was bad enough that S&W should get it back another said it was shootable but not for long .
The gun is about 5 years old , had maybe 150 rounds thru. it all 158 lead swchp +p ( gun is rated for +P ).
gun was subjected to alot of dry fire with snap caps .
Anyway the gun is on the way to S&W , anyone else had a problem like this ? I have an older one not +p rated that i have lost count of rounds fired that is still tight .
If ya can see it ya can hit it !
