The pigs are back. ;D

I had been searching the swamp for two hours to find the deer.  Got water in my shoes,  soaked my socks, and had wet feet.  >:(

I hate wet feet.

The only difference between coyotes and hogs in my book is,,,,,we can eat the hogs. Every one of em dead is a good hog / coyote. Nice hogs by the way. Land owner I thought they'd trapped a bunch of em around your place? Guess they moved back in huh?

Castle Dale Utah, 2 "condemned" meat hogs, released onto 3,000 acres ( mostly hay fields/creek bottom/sage) We spotted them from top of the rimrock behind us down in the hay field. Hunted them down like convicted criminals and neck shot them at 25yds while they were napping! ha. My friend on your right (my left)shot the white one with my elk load in my 30.06/ 200gr partition. I shot the other with a .224 TTH ( a 22/6mm wildcat) and the 75gr Swift Scirocco bullet. Both about 275#ers. It ain't much, but it's all we got here in Utah! ha. There is only one other place in the state I am aware of that has hogs/exotics. I like to shoot them off of corn walking down a pipeline or old logging road. I miss Texas!

I bet those two "criminals" will BBQ up right fine and taste good too!  Nice!!!  I love the granite quarry look behind you.  Heck of a backstop.  Sit on the rim and pick 'em off at long range.

It is a Luxus Model 11 (luxusarms.com). It is a break open single shot of their design.  Mine is a 223.

Bill and I with last weekends Eurasian sows. Around 200#ers, there were no hogs left on the place that had cutters. Nice and wooley though, and they had those "hackles" raised up, so made a pretty setting.

Plenty of hogs in South Texas.

After inspecting this one, we discovered a broken hind leg. She had dragged it so much the skin was starting to rub off. Sure didn't slow her down though.

Terrific B/W porker, shirt sleeve weather, beautiful place for a picture, Marlin 336 in 30-30 (maybe?), WTG 35Rem (uh, wait a minute, maybe that pig was shot with your 35 Rem?).

You are quite the detective :). My username is self explanatory. It's a J.C. Higgins Model 45 in .35 Remington, which was also sold as a Marlin 336.

Mine is from Sears, and was given to me by my grandfather, who passed away two weeks ago. RIP, Granddad.

I am sorry for your loss.  Tell us, was that gun bought new?  If so, it is what, 65 years old?  It looks to be in very good condition.  An heirloom for your own kids at this rate.  Very nice...

He was a good man, lived a long and happy life, and is in a better place now.  We should all be excited to go, when it is our time.

The gun was purchased in 1957, according to the information verified from http://oldguns.net/, so that makes it 55 years old.  For a shooter, it is in extremely good shape, and I intend to keep it that way.

After chasing hogs around all day I finally got the shot I wanted. Savage 10 Predator Max in 243. Shooting a handloaded 100 Sierra boattail soft point, just behind the head.  Thanks for looking!  JeffG

Does anyone remember the scene from "Quigley Down Under" showing the aborigines lined up on the skyline as far as you could see?   That needs to be US!
