side shields for shooting glasses
« on: August 06, 2003, 09:46:41 AM »
I need corrective lenses and for this reason can't use the wrap-around shooting glasses.  I ordered a pair of side shields and they seem to do the job.
Got them from:  http://www.tasco-safety.com/sglasses/sideshields.html#a

here is a link to see what they look like:  http://users2.ev1.net/~dwel/gun%20cart%20photos/P1010064.JPG

Will be trying them out Thursday nite to see how much of a distraction they will be, but then that's got to be better than loosing an eye!

I got the same shields. Shot with them yesterday and today. At first I thought they would be a distraction, but by the time I was shooting the first stage I had forgotten they were there.
Ordered them last Saturday and recieved them by Thursday. May have been there earlier.

Gave mine a try at the Thursday evening shoot.  Found that they fog a bit but nothing that can't be lived with.  Small price to pay for keeping the old eyeballs.
Will be trying them in daylight here in a week or two.  This will be the CAS shoot so we'll see how they do in daylight.
