October 11, Good morning Montana
« on: October 11, 2008, 01:27:29 AM »
Good morning on this cold 28* morning... I think I will get me some coffee and be right back..........

Makes coffee, here have a cup

Well it really is time to be looking at those hunting areas, that I am going to be hunting whitetail in this year..... on one area the owner lets a few others besides myself and the farm hands into.  So we will see what is moving around and where the best deer highways are located as bowhunting season winds down during this next week.

Good morning, yep its a bit chilly this morning.  Let the dogs out and sure enough we got on the white side of the 50% chance of snow.

I would really rather have seen this the second week of season.  But it won't hurt now.

I never hunted white tail until I came to Montana.  We had Blacktail out in western Oregon where I grew up and Mulie out east.  I had to learn a diiferent way of hunting when I got here.

When I was out scouting earlier this week I saw deer sign, but no deer. What I also saw was deer not moving to pattern, due to the late harvest.  I think I am going to have to go up again and see what I can see after this little bit of snow.  Things have changed over the past 6 years since I last hunted here.

I have been thinking about this. I think these changes go on all the time.  It's just that these chages are so subtle that we really don't notice them unless we have been gone for a while.
