I use the Internet to "wordsmith" misspellings. If I don't know exactly how to spell it, I type it in Google and usually get the corrected version and off I go back to typing.
Today, I needed a synonym (another word that means the same) for "poor". So I typed it into Google and the first link was msn encarta so I clicked the link and found my synonym - "impoverished" among others.
What I also found was a Barack Obama advertisement on the page with my synonym. Ordinarily that would not surprise me in an election year. But the occurrance of that Ad with the synonym for "poor"? Just a coincidence?
So I tried to see if I got an ad for McCain when I Googled and linked to msn encarta for "rich". Nope.
Then I thought it was a fluke, so I shut down my browser, fired it up again, and tried "impoverished" - Ad for Obama; then "needy" - Ad for Obama.
How can I check if is a PC cache situation with msn encarta? Do you get the same results?
I am puzzled and just wondering. Advertising is shown wherever it is paid for I suppose.
And this Obama "exposure" by this posting is NOT an indication of my CONSERVATIVE VALUES.
