Just found ya.
« on: October 12, 2008, 07:49:57 AM »
Goodmorning all.  Looks like a slow site.  Just went down far enough on GBO to see this.  Hope everyone is getting ready for General season.  Just had 2 of my boys take Hunter Ed. this year, gave them each a rifle and they are looking foreward to hunting with the old man.  They have only been here about a year now, took my wife and I 3 years of paperwork to get them here from the Phillipines.  Long story on that, won't go there.  I'm down Billings way, been here since 78.  Hope ya'll have a safe and productive hunting season.  DP

dpe.ahoy  let me welcome you to Montana Hunting, and your right it is slow and we would be pretty much alone here without Double D posting as well.  I'm glad he can also jump in to moderate should it ever get bad, but I know it won't.  But when I am recuping from shoulder surgery and may not be able to type he will be here.

Back in 05 I live up above you in Winnett, but moved back to the Flathead Valley.

Get your boy's out there and have a great hunting season this year, and we do look forward to pictures here.

Take care
Jon

Welcome dpe.ahoy, glad to have.  Like Montanan said I'm up in Cut Bank.

It may seem slow, but take a good look at the number of views we get everyday with the morning report.

I first came to Montana in 1995 as a part of my job. Left in 2002 for Washington, DC and a promotion.  In 2006 took transfer to  South Afrcia and retired last March.  The wife and I are originally from Oregon.  When we were getting ready to retire we looked at going back home or coming to Montana.   Since Oregon is now the northernmost county in California, the decision was easy.

Besides hunting gray digger squirrel in Oregon is fun, but it just can't measure up to hunting gophers in Montana.  I will spend from February to mid August hunting gophers.  Come fall just keep my hand in it I shoot deer.

We're going to set up camp on some land I bought this year, just about 20 miles straight north of Winnett.  About 3.5 to 4 miles East of the Valentine turnoff on the Crooked Creek Rec Area road.  Lots of public ground up there to hunt, I think they are going to have a great time.  Jon, good luck with the shoulder surgery.  Will it keep you from hunting this year?  Double D, Haven't been around the Cut Bank area for 20 years, I was working for Town Pump then and when they bought the old Bairs truck stop in Shelby, I went up and oversaw the remod on the building and islands, got the crew hired and trained and then moved on.  I was there about 5 months.  Again, good luck to all.  DP

dpe.ahoy

I should find out on either monday or tuesday about surgery....  ::) so I don't know if it will hamper my handgun hunting, so we will see.  I sent you a PM as I know the area well where your going to be hunting.

You have a good one and be safe!
