Boy + CVA Wolf = Big Deer

Thought you CVA guys would like this. I posted a pict and discription of a young man 11years old. Shot a big buck Saturday in Illinois. He was using a CVA Wolf with power belts, shot was 113 yards. Here is a link to the picture in youth hunt section.

What weight of powerbelt and powder charge was he using?   What kind of damage?

Very Nice, That would be a great deer for a grown up, much less an 11 yo boy. ;D

   That is one fine deer, the young man did real good  ;). I might have to check out that CVA Wolf muzzleloader it sure did the job 8).

tha wolfs will do the job, I've had to do sum work ta it tho.  It likes to shoot now tho, I haven't shot any sabots since sum of da "upgrades", no need to stuff hard loadin plastik when it shoots conicals guud nuf fer me.

Not sure on his load or bullet weight. I will try to find out.

The boy makes sick, well at least jealous as heck. This is his second year hunting, and his second nice dear.

Ok got an update.This is from his mom.

Here is the full scoop on the whole shooting match!
Pictures are from Marty's camera phone, a little fuzzy but it gets the
whole deer in there compared to Garret-BIG!




He was shooting 80 grains of pyrodex pellets one 50 and one 30 and a 223
grain aerotip copper powerbelt bullet..

The gun was a cva wolf with a Simmons pro diamond 4X32 scope.

The shot he made was 113 yards.

The deer field dressed 261 pounds.

The taxidermist thought it would score around 140.
