The Government is buying our banks???

With part of the seven hundred billion dollars, that the government just stole from the taxpayers, they plan to buy stock in banks.  THEY WILL CONTROL OUR BANKS!!!!!!  Come on people.  How much more will the American people take before they say ENOUGH, YOU HAVE TOO MUCH POWER AND THAT ISN'T RIGHT?  This is crazy!  They aren't even sure if it will help with the crisis or not.  Wether or not it will work, it gives the government the power to push banks to aid borrowers with poor credit histories, to subsidize politically connected industries, and to lend in the districts of powerful members of Congress.  Banks will be easily black mailed or bribed, since the gov can threaten to pull the money out or give it more.  Does anyone else see how horrible this is for the American people and such a gross misuse of power?

I am no expert on Banks (like many other things)) but seems like the gov. already pretty much controlled them. They are just trying to make it official.

From what I have heard on the news they will not buy enough stock in any bank to have a controlling interest. Dale

Absolutely right Heather.
What's worse is the scumbags that ran the banks into the ground and made millions doing it.
They should be rotting in jail and the taxpayers should not be footing the bill for it.
