Benelli M1 verses M2

Greetings all, Just so you know to celebrate.  Tomorow is Alaska day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now for the question. Whats the differences between the Benelli M1 and the M2?

I have a M1 and am thinking about a M2.

My dealer (who is honest) tells me that the only difference is the recoil reducing stock and the cosmetic difference.  I had the same question.  He point blank told me that if you had an M1 it would be a waste to replace it with an M2.  Now if you want a SECOND Benelli, that is a different story!
