I just threw a bid on it off e bay model 1010 old Simmons scope made in japan
$33.00
I just could not pass on it will see when it arrives guy had a excellent feedback say it like new
I was informed if it has the red ring on the bell yep japan made

My honest opinion: a newer Made in china simmons is probably better than an old made in Japan model.  best of luck.
