We can sit here and bicker all we want, but fact is Obama won and we lost! We includes everyone here except the few who supported Obama.

In the end McCain lost because he was not electable.  The panjandrums at the RNC could not come up with a presidential candidate who would energize the party.  McCain came with too much baggage:

The Lieberman-McCain "gun show loophole" bill
McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform
Kennedy-McCain amnesty for illegal aliens bill

I could care less whether Saxby Chambliss loses.  Chambliss is a Viet Nam era draft dodger who accused  Max Cleland  of "not being a patriot."  Cleland is a decorated triple amputee from the Viet Nam war.

alsaqr, you have be CONVICTED of causing an election to be lost by the most high Republicans for stating FACTS! Please cease and desist from this behavior, as it "confuses those lacking facts" and whom are relying on a "lost party" to save them. ;)

yes  he  lost  because  of  his  short comings

but  despite  them  he  would  have  won  without  3rd party  opposition

DO  YOU  WANT THE DEMOCRATS TO  HAVE A FILABUSTER PROOF  SENATE??

ASNSWER  ME  THAT......IF  YOU  DO.....WHY  ARE  YOU  HERE??

So you would rather have a criminal in that seat?????? you just really don't like democrats do you...

you guys continue to spout the same stuff over and over but are not stepping back and looking at the big picture here.... IT IS OVER WE ARE SCREWED.... You are playing right into the part that was created for you... instead of looking at what can be done and how you can  play a part in it you are standing on the side line pointing fingers at those trying to do something to change the path we are on.

There have been 2 topics posted about End the Fed Rallies and they have been all but ignored... and yet the threads bashing 3rd party voters has 6 pages... give me a break guys...

I have one question for you...
Do you want to sit on your hands and turn your nose up at those making an effort or do you want to make a difference yourself...

If the later is your answer then stop the BS and lets start threads about how we can get out of this mess we find ourselves in... never mind how we got here... we are here now how do we get out...

Matt

WOW!  You actually make a good point!  It is sooooo much easier to lay blame than fix! Seems most like the easy way these days as evident by our current economy.

So far as our Second Amendment rights go it matters not if the Republicans have control of the US senate with 55 votes or are the minority with 40 votes.  8-10 Republicans in the US senate can be counted on to vote with the Democrats for more gun control.  The extension of the AWB passed the US senate in 2004.

http://www.officer.com/article/article.jsp?id=10231&siteSection=1

Quote
Ten Republicans broke party ranks on the assault weapons vote: Warner, Chafee, Fitzgerald, DeWine, Lugar, Voinovich, Susan Collins of Maine, Judd Gregg of New Hampshire, Gordon Smith of Oregon and Olympia Snowe of Maine.

Quote
Six Democrats voted against extending the ban: Baucus, Nelson, Russ Feingold of Wisconsin, Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, Zell Miller of Georgia and Harry Reid of Nevada.

Quote
A few Republicans also voted with the Democrats to close the "gun show loophole.'' Under current law, unlicensed gun dealers at private shows are not required to ask for government background checks before selling weapons. Democrats and a few Republicans argued that loopholes allows people who normally wouldn't be able to buy guns get dangerous weapons.

"Criminals and terrorists are exploiting this obvious loophole in our gun safety laws,'' said Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona.

McCain, along with fellow Republicans Warner, Richard Lugar of Indiana, George Voinovich of Ohio, Charles Hagel of Nebraska, Mike DeWine of Ohio, Peter Fitzgerald of Illinois and Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island voted along with the Democrats. Democrats Max Baucus of Montana and Ben Nelson of Nebraska also crossed party lines to vote with the Republicans.

Another thing there, 45-70;  Bob Barr and the Libertarians got .04% of the vote in the presidential race in Alaska.  McCain won the state by 70,000+ votes, with a total of 192,631.  Stevens lost, with 147,004 votes.  That means that 45,627 people punched a ballot for McCain, but didn't vote for Stevens.  Libertarian party's fault?  I think not.

kevethebassman, you are pouring water down a rat hole trying to make a point with some. I for one am done with both parties until they get a REAL candidate. I personally don't care what most think of my attitude as I have been watching these geniuses vote same ole same ole for 50 years with things getting worse and worse. What does that tell ya?
When I get that kinda crap, I just consider the source. Many are not worth trying to line up with anyway. I want to stand shoulder to shoulder with some good ole common sense, not some moron that keeps sticking his finger into the same light socket and wonders why he keeps getting shocked, or some Internet badass, with a vivid imagination screaming revolution.
It's just like all the panic over the Democrats. I know what my rights are according to the Bill of Rights. That's the paper I signed on to. They can pass anything they want to pass. All they have to do then, is figure out how their gonna enforce it. The cart with some, is always "BEFORE THE HORSE". Drama is their life.
Some people are just natural born worriers and drama queens. JMA

My point is that your claim that the Libertarian party is "causing problems" is hogwash, pure and simple.  Ted Stevens lost the race for Ted Stevens, same as McCain lost the race for McCain.

My point is that the Democrats and Republicans are rotten to the core, and they're both taking us down the same road.  I hope to see the end of this two party shell game they're running in Washington.

that  is  a very  good  objective
and  why  i  spent  20  years  in  the Libertarian party

we  have  2  parties  now     sociallist  and  communist
i  think  it  will be  easier to reform  the  socialist [rebuplicans]
while crushing  the communist  [democrats]
than  to start  another party

my  fear  is  that  in  raising  a better party  will  let  the communist  [d]crush the socialist[r]
and  i  thought  this  Georgia  race  was  a prime  example
the  more  i  learn the  more  i  realize  what  i don't know
like  why  is  the whole  world moving  slowly toward  communism?

True communism is an unachievable pipe dream.  The Soviet Union in it's heyday was about as far from communism as we are.  They were a totalitarian state.  True communism would have to be voluntary and would be run without a central government.  True communism isn't possible.

What we're headed towards is a corporate welfare state.  The line between industry and government is blurring, and the middle class is disappearing.  You can already see it in the way that the government is moving into the banking business, and the way that the banking business is getting money from the taxpayers.

Every poll I saw showed that the people were overwhelmingly against the bailout, yet it passed congress anyway.  That's because the banking interests were able to get their stooges in congress to pack the bill with more pork to buy the votes of unscrupulous congressmen.  The bill didn't pass, so their solution was to pack it full of another $150 billion of BS.

Matt

The crash isn't obvious to everyone yet.

Some people understand the signs. Others have to wait until the rug is completely yanked from under them to realize that there's a problem.

The inflation which will work it's way through our monetary system over the next 2 years will be an enormous wakeup call.

Everyone is going to see their net worth and their purchasing ability cut by a very significant percentage. Their standard of living is going to drop very significantly.

Unemployment will reach levels that haven't been seen by most people who are alive today,...and it will continue to go downhill from there.

A 10 trillion dollar deficit,...7.5 trillion dollar bailout,...50 trillion dollars owed in entitlements over the next 20 years,....

That's the fiscal ruination of this country,..and it will never be fixed until after something drastic occurs.

We can sit here and bicker all we want, but fact is Obama won and we lost! We includes everyone here except the few who supported Obama.

Right before the election, I believe it was O Riley on the radio was speaking of a study that true conservatism will only garner a vote of about 30%. Well then like it or not a candidate that is more towards the middle of the road whether we like that or not.  Like it or not we all have to compromise. As much as you loved him Ron Paul was not on the ballot, we had one poster here that was all drooling over Mc Cain after he chose Sarah Palin for VP, and then went on to blast and insult anyone who voted Mc Cain Palin. Folks like them are the kind that do not build trust, they are dividers. Well as I said before we all lost, Obama won, you all can sit and cry over spilt milk or you can attempt to form up a coalition from this loss and begin to fight back.
99% of all Lawyers give the other 1% a bad name. What I find hilarious about this is they are such an arrogant bunch, that they all think they are in the 1%.

Re: Your 3rd party vote....

i  am  not bashing  3rd  parties.......i  was  one  for  ever half  my voting life

just  trying   to point  out the shortfalls  of  a 3rd  party

people  are  so  angry  at  our lack  of  choice  they don't  like  me  pointing out  those drawbacks

this  is  an  out  door  forum and  gunforum  ISN'T  IT

both  parties  will  make it  hard  to keep your  home and put  you  OUT DOORS

but  one  party  has  90% [wild guess]  wants   to grab  guns

the  other party 90% [another wild guess]  will  leave  you gun rights  intact

i  left  the Libertarian  party  because  i saw  it  taking votes  away  from republicans for  years

MCCAIN  had  to survive  many primaries  to  remain  in  any  office

now  as  a registered  Republican  i  can  help  stop the liberal ones  in  the primaries

now  i  have  2 votes  not  the  one  general  election  vote   for  a man  that can't win

did  i  mention  how  important  it  is to call any one  in Georgia  to get out  and vote Tuesday
sorry  if  i am  not articulate  enough  to get my point  across  with out  offending  any one

just  remember  who  passes  the  MOST  gun  laws  and  who  has  the BEST  chance  to stop them
when drugs are outlawed only out laws will have drugs
DO WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO STOP A DEMOCRAT
OBAMACARE....the biggest tax hike in the  history of mankind
free choice and equality  can't co-exist
AFTER THE LIBYAN COVER-UP... remind any  democrat voters ''they sat and  watched them die''...they  told help to ''stand down''
