That is a great story you have. Here is a solution. :-)
Call each of your three sons, and tell them that you are outraged that they wore out YOUR .30-30 Mossberg, and that each of them has to send you $100 to make up for it.
Take the $300, start going to gunshows, and find a very good used Mossberg lever, that is the same model as your original.
Strip off everything from the receiver of the replacement rifle, and substitute the replacement receiver into your original rifle. (You will have to pay a gunsmith to headspace the old barrel onto the replacement receiver.)
Then, you will have your original rifle, with a replacement receiver on it, and a bunch of spare parts left over.
Put the original rifle back into your guncabinet, and save it for your grandchildren. :-) Take the old receiver, and transfer it to the gunsmith on his books, for destruction by him.
Yea, I know that this is a waste of money, but what the heck. :-)
