torque for trigger guard screws on Model 7

Anybody have any idea what the torque spec is for the screw behind the trigger guard on a wood stocked Model 7?  The front screw is quite a bit larger than the rear one and Remington says 30 to 35 in/lb for both.  That sounds like quite a bit for the little screw.  Kinda scares me to put that much on it.  This is on the CDL 25th Anniversary 7MM-08.

30-35 in-lbs is correct.  Your screws should be just fine.  Good luck.

I don't use a torque wrench but rather my calibrated elbow to determine torque. I apply the same to both. So does Remington I believe. I think they do it the same way I do as well.
