I thought that the Firestorm was mfgd in Spain, by a group of ex-Llama people? I share coyotejoe's distaste for the former Llama brand...a .38 Super of that marque is the only pistol that ever KaBoomed in my hand, when a case blew on the feed ramp...but a pal of mine picked up a Firestorm to keep in his camp...gotta be a gun you don't mind losing to a camp thief...and we were surprised. It felt like two-plus pounds of scrap in the hand, cleverly disguised as a 1911; you could file your nails on the finish; but it shot very well, fired cases ejected cleanly and WHOLE, and in general the piece gave good service. I call it his "Orc issue .45".
The metal seems good. He has used it now for several seasons, as a plinking-loaning-teaching gun for folks who visit his remote woods camp, and it is holding up well to both factory and sane handloads.
Sometimes there ARE agreeable surprises. (I still haven't rushed out and bought one of my own...my pal's may be the single exception to the rule: Spanish guns suck.)
