Glock primer appearance
« on: October 21, 2008, 04:50:36 PM »
I recently bought a Glock in 10mm Automatic and I wasn't sure what to make of the primer's appearance after the factory ammunition was fired.  What are your thoughts?  Is it normal?  Pressure too high?

Thank you, Matt.  I did some more research and found a post which seems to confirm this is normal.

Both my 23 and 36 does that.  I would say normal as well.

Typical Glock signature primer strikes. No problem.

Thank you, guys.  This is my first Glock and I thought something was really wrong.  The only centerfire handguns I have owned have been revolvers.

Well, guess he could have gone up to the 11mm if he really wanted to go "Big" ;D I like my 10mm, just don't shoot it much as I hate to lose the brass. A .40 barrel is a good investment, if you are not wealthy and like to shoot that mdl 20 a lot.

HotRod9mm and Savage,

I decided to go with the 10mm because I will be hunting whitetail deer in the fall with it.  I have also seen a black bear in the area, so I wanted the most punch for the Glock.

The mdl 20 is a good choice! I like the Witness  better in the 10mm tho. Just personal preference.

Because the Glock uses a striker instead of a firing pin the extra inertia prevents it from retracting before the slide cams down to unlock, thereby dragging and making the hole oblong.
