Source for lead alloy

Has anyone had any experience with Rotometal?  Thinking about starting to cast my own bullets but I'm concerned that lead wheel weights will become hard to get.  I have found Midway as a source but prices are a little steep.  This is the link to Rotometals.  http://www.rotometals.com/Bullet-Casting-Alloys_c_93.html

Looks like that would work.  Check your local tire/automotive shops in the area.  I just made the rounds today and picked up 240 pounds of wheel weights for $42.  Not too bad.

You might also try Ebay; I've gotten Linotype and hard lead mixes for much less than that metals place.  Watch the shipping cost though, not all use the flat rate method.

Keep trying the little (non Big O tires or WalMart) tire stores.

I went out during lunch today and got 30-35lbs free at one shop and paid $50 for 2 5gal buckets full to the top plus a little.  I'll go back again after next payday and get some more.

My personal experience is that a full 5gal bucket weighs around 130 - 140lbs and gives about 110 - 120lbs of "ingots".  Now my ingots are soda pop cans with the top cut off using a can opener and when full weigh about 8.5-9lbs each.  Sort of a one time use ingot mold.  YMMV.

I weighed a bucket almost full of ww's, and it came to 140 pounds.  There was still 2-3 inches left of room left in the bucket, so a full one might go closer to 150-180 pounds.  Just my opinion.
