GPS would not lock on to satellites
« on: October 25, 2008, 05:39:22 AM »
Last Sunday I did a little scouting near my house. I took my Garmin 60c along. It would not lock on to any satellites and I left it on for quite a while even in an open area (my yard). There was absolutely no cloud cover. I tried it again the next day and after a longer time than usual it locked on several satellites. I just thought I'd pass this on. Dave

go back to your owners manual and go to the section on start up of a new unit where you initailize it for your area and do it again.

Thanks Lloyd. It worked fine yesterday. I'll use your suggestion if it happens again.
