I can't help you with an Encore barrel, but I have several Contender .22 barrels that work well.  In fact they are tack drivers.

My 24 inch encore barrel is amazing! I shot it for a week or so with the factory open sights and was very impressed. Then put a 3-9 el cheepo scope and was even more impressed. My son and I shoot empty 22 cases at 30 feet. Group size about like a dime for ten shots at 50 feet. Makes me wonder if I need to keep that bull barrel bolt action 22  rifle that shoots almost as well.

I kinda figured that would be the case.  I have a couple of 17 HMR barrels and a 17 HM2 as well as the .22s, and all the rimfires are boring they are so accurate.

I had a 22lr pistol barrel for my contender. Good shooter, but it was a pistol.

Just wondering if the Encore are chambered in match, bentz or some hybrid chamber.

  Mine is a 15" Encore barrel,doesn't say 'Match" on it anywhere,but it sure shoots good.
  I think there are 8 or 9 shots in the group,measures .162 C-C @ 25yd's.

  BTW always use 'enuff scope'.

  I got this barrel in a trade,figured I'd give it a try and it shoots good ,but I prefer Contender's for RF's.

  The Encore will ping the edge of the chamber if you dry fire it,just once is all it takes.

  Have a friend with a .22rf rifle barrel and has the same problem.
