stevens favorite

 I have a Stevens Favorite in 17 hmr and I have not have not been able to shoot it but just a little, no idea what shoots  best  or what to expect. Anyone else have one  and what can I expect?

You can expect it to be what it is. Its a fun lightweight plinker that's cheap to shoot,works best on head shots at closer range in the woods.

Had one in .22LR once long ago. I kinda liked the looks of it. Trigger was horrible. It was at best a fun plinker and so long as I wasn't too serious about wanting to actually hit what I aimed at it worked OK. Don't get your expectations too high for it is my advice. I think the best use of them is as a wall hanger and if I still had it that's where it would be today.

Clum Sum,

Since this is a 17 HMR it must be one of the new ones.  Tell  us how it shoots.  The 17HMR is supposed to be a pretty good shooter although not as accurate as it's little brother the 17 HM2.  It's not going to be cheap to shoot. Several friends have 17HMR's and say it is so accurate the cost of ammo is not unreasonable.
