Finally got my 270 that I bought in Jan. to the range, Sunday! I had ammo made up already for it. 53 gr. of IMR 4350 pushing a Hornady 130 gr. Sp.
It took 4 shots to zero at 25 yds., and then I was surprised to see that it was shooting high at 100yds. But, Ed told me that would happen. I adjusted it and when it was all said and done I was 1" high at 100 yds. and dead on as far as windage. It was a fantastic day to zero any rifle in.
I did my part and the rifle did its part.
Now, hopefully this coming Friday, the 308 that was bought in Feb., will be done in hopefully the same amt. of time as the 270. I was really surprised how accurate the 270 was. Of course earlier this year I took my time and lapped the barrel, and made sure I did everything that I could to make sure the rifle would hopefully shoot good when it went to the range. Just to have something else to do, I took along one of my 22 rifles and got it zeroed at 50 yds. A real good day for me.
