Old Hakim topic
« on: October 28, 2008, 12:59:00 PM »
I know we have discussed this before but now I can't find the info?
Anyone have the info on how to convert an MG13 mag to fit a Hakim?
I have searched all over the net and so far no luck.
A friend of mine is foaming at the mouth wanting to make one.
Something about a 25 round 7.92x57 does kinda' get the goose bumps going though!

I remember the topic.  Maybe a search here on Graybeard for Hakim or Ljungman topics might get you there.  I don't know if you can convert a Ljungman magazine to fit the Hakim but the Swede mags are probably more expensive.

As to the 25 rounders - I know at one time you could find 30 round mags for the Ljungman from one of the surplus shops but I have not heard of one for the Hakim.

Something about a 25 round 8mm Hakim that would give me enough goose bumps to make sure I had a new set of springs in it but yeah, it would kinda light up the night, would't it..................... Mikey.

I had a link, but it's dead now. I printed out the instructions a few years back but I can't find them at the moment.

As I recall, it was just a matter of some minor dremel work on the MG-13 mag, and I think the Hakim mag catch has to be modified a tiny bit. I remember thinking that I could have probably done the mod just by looking at the original mag and grinding the MG-13 to match. It looked very simple.

A big mag is nice, but if you want a Hakim with slightly LESS firepower, look into the single-shot 22 cal airgun Hakim trainer made for Egypt by Anschutz.  I have five of them...
