.45 acp defense round?

Honestly, I was just curious to see what folks carry.  As I expected there are many preferences.  Shootall might be correct as some others on this thread.   

I've seen folks shot with just about every caliber handgun, a few rifle rounds and a shotgun or two.  The shotgun was the only consistant 1 shot stopped with a center mass hit, even with dove loads. The worst I've seen (caliber wise) was 9mm with any bullet configuration.  Didn't seem to stop anyone well. 

Right now, I have ball ammo in the RIA still.  It shoots it well.  Thanks for all the great responses guys.  God bless'

I used to use CCI Lawman when they were loaded with the Speer 200 gn "flying ashtrays".

That is what I have carried for years. I still have 300 - 350 rounds left. Once that is all gone I will probably switch to 200gr. Hornady XTP Hollow Points.

Georgia arms a firm out of GA. still loads them and they are mail order if you need some . I find there products work well .

I carry a 45 with 230gr HP, if they expand great if they don't fine they leave a big hole anyhow.

Me too!  I have used the Federal Personal Defense 165gr HP in a short barrel (less recoil), but I usually shoot an xD loaded with 230gr HP thinking "if they expand great if they don't fine" it's close enough to 230gr ball to work.  And if ball is all I've got, I feel just fine with that.
