Looking For Factory Grips for Security Six
« on: November 01, 2008, 03:53:26 PM »
Can anyone steer me to a source for factory grips for a Security Six?  I have one coming in with fancy rubber grips.  Since my wife will be shooting this and she has small hands, I want to return it to the orignal condition.

Thanks,

Actually, I woulnd't be amazed if Ruger still had a couple kicking around. Might be worth a phone call to customer service there. There is a slim possiblity that I might still  have a pair somewhere if you can't find any I'll look.

Also, keep an eye on E-bay. Even though lots of gun stuff is no longer allowed there, grips are!

I have a Security Six and I love it.  I don't have big hands but didn't like the factory grips.  I put on Hogue grips,  they're thin and comfortable. The finger grips help me keep a more consistant grip.  Pachmyer grips are too fat.

I'm with Freezer all the way and that's the way my sec 6 is now set up. Love that old gun.

Winter I see quite a few Security 6 grips offered on Gun Broker auctions.  They don't give them away tho - seem to run about $24 per pair - but shop careful and you might find some. Too bad you don't need the Pachmyer signature grips - I have a pair I'd send you now that I have the Hogues.
