New Feller' Intro Here!!
« on: November 02, 2008, 12:54:16 PM »
Some of you might know me from Marlin Owners Forums but I have also found a soft spot for the H & R rifles. I am from the GREAT state of Kentucky and just a good ol' country feller' with a passion for the outdoors huntin', fishin', shootin' ect. I am 39 and single (not married) and an electrician by trade, this economy thing is killin' me but I will survive somehow someway. I am currently looking for my first H & R rifle but I have a bad case of 1911 and Marlinitis Syndrome and just can't get enough of those leverguns and .45cal Badboys, but wanting a laminated H&R 45/70 Ultra REAL bad!!  I do have a question but will post a new topic as not to make this one so long and boring. AWESOME forums and will be spending time between here and Marlin Owners.

--Glad you're onboard.  I'm new myself.  As a side note, I just passed up a screamin' deal on a Marlin 1895 guide gun..yup..I bought a couple of handi's instead.  I'll get my guide gun as soon as I finish my handi collection...

No problems lettin' someone here if they have something else, hell, they let me on here and I'm obnoxious. ;D    Even have a few of the Marlins meself.  But, the Handi's are just that, handi, and as addictive as tater chips to boot.  I put abunch of them together when I went to camp, hopin' they will breed and I won't have to buy any more for a while. ;)  Grab a cup o' your favorite beverage, and enjoy what can go from informative, funny, serious to "you gotta be s******g me". Welcome.  DP

I'm a retired electrician and there's a lot of work here in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.  I just can't understand why you'd want a .45-70.  I'd just have to beat you over the head if you tried to take mine  >:(Welcome and enjoy the good people here.  Pete

Hey, DPE, we could get together and set up a breeding program.  Tim's toys would certainly provide genetic diversity ;)

Welcome kyredneck.  I have two frames (an SB1 and an SB2) and 4 barrels which makes me a baby around here.  I do have a Marlin 1895 but, sorry, no 1911's.

Howdy neighbor, I grew up in Corbin. Work has me in Richmond.

I don't look in pawn shops in Lex to much hassle to go drive around, I do go to Classic arms alot Hank and his boys will treat you right, I go to Evans sometimes and Buds is always there. Plenty of shopping in LA.

Classic Arms & Archery is my favorite, I knew Hank and big John when they both worked at Antique and Modern, Evans I can't stand, Bud's seem too have better deals on new than Classic A&A but Classic has a better "unique" selection and hard too find pieces, I especially like "The Ugly Gun of the Month" thing  ;D     I picked up a really nice bull barrelled/synthetic H&R Handi in .17HMR for $100 otd.
