Where to buy??

Where do you typically buy your gun, stocks,.....ect?  Just curious if you go through a local dealer for your guns. and where do you buy your additional stocks and other accessories.

New stocks can be orders direct from H&R(see the Retail Parts page in FAQs) and Brownell's, used stocks can be bought in the H&R Classifieds here at GBO. Boyd's sells the lam t-holes in their discontinued and seconds. Choate makes the synthetic stock and can be ordered from them and other online retailers. GBO sponsor Gunstocks Inc sells aftermarket unfinished stocks, sponsors can be found at the top of the Links list.

I've bought a lot of my H&Rs used in parts and put them together myself(see barrel fitting in the FAQs), but have bought several used rifles in the H&R Classifieds, have ordered a few from local dealers and others from 3 different online dealers, RR, TGS and Bud's.

Just information - I bought my first Handi (223 Ultra Varmint) through the local Walmart. I then promptly ordered 2 more barrels , 357 and 30-30. They were having a sale on barrel accessory program going at the time and I got the barrels for the cheap (no fitting fee). My next gun was through Gander Mountain. It was a 44 Mag with synthetic (plastic) stock and fore end. I liked the Cinnamon Lams that came on my Ultra. So I sent the frame in and got a 444, and 22 Hornet SL barrels for this frame and got cinnamon laminated stock for the frame and ordered 5 more cinnamon laminated fore ends so each barrel I have has it's own fore end. Now both my frames have the laminated butt shocks and each barrel has it's own fore end. I really like my guns and I got every thing through H&R. If you can not tell, I like the cinnamon laminated wood, I think the prices are very reasonable when compared to others. But that is just personal preference. Fred got his stocks through Gun Stocks America and did some custom work on them -one word beautiful.

I buy my guns at the "shows" stocks from H&R and brownells. bought 1 complete and a barrel from H&R classfied
