I am trying a new approach to sights on my topper for turkey hunting.
I am putting a barrel clamp weaver mount and a burris red dot about
half way own my barrel.
==========================

I cant find anything about this.  Has anyone ever seen a red dot
mounted on a shotgun in the Scout position using a barrel
clamp?   This sounds like it could be the best way to put
sights on smooth bore barrels to shoot slugs.

NEF shotgun with Reddot.

I guess now I need a trashed forearm to butcher so I can get
the clamp on at a decent location....

I have a 1" Bushnell Red Dot on my 12 ga. Remington 870.  Millet makes rings that clamp onto the vent rib.  It works very well clamped about 1/3 of the way down the barrel.
