It is really simple.  Liberal teachers have been brainwashing our voting age children for years and no one did anything.  We made PC statements as if they were intolerable to speak and question.  We voted with emotion as our legal system has no standard for individual responsibility.  We permitted Health and Social Services to seize our children without due process for the sake of public security.  We have done everything that our founding fathers did not want in an electorate.  When the people give up their arms for the sake of peace and security, they shall have neither.  We, the ignorant voters who voted with emotion and social wel being have given up our security and peace to the government.  We don't deserve to own or possess firearms as we don't have the conviction to use them against government excesses.  Bah Humbug.

Well that is a start, but then you will be on defensive when they come to get your rights.  This is the reason we are in this damn mess.  We should have done more and been more active in local, school board and State elections.  We should have signed petitions calling for the recall on politicians that violated our Constitutional rights.  We should have been more pro active instead of re active.  Now our choices are null action, defensive action or revolt.  Take your pick.  There won't be any other decision.

We need to "community organize" like they did.  Get active with gun owners, hand write letters to your congressmen and senators.  Emails and calls also.  One hand written letter = about 1,000 votes to a congressman.  One email and one phone call = about 100 votes.  Do it all, get people organized to do this on a regular basis.  Keep up with what is going on in congress, and then call, write, and email.  Flood them.  Eventually they will listen, if they don't, get organized to vote them out next time.  Join the NRA and the GOA.

These two posts bear repeating.  As correct and succinct a statement of the past and present conditions as I've ever seen!

Unfortunately, even with all the chest thumping, there will be no "voting from the rooftops."  After the lawyers are gone - remember the old saw "the first thing you do is kill all the lawyers?"  The first part of that statement is "How do we bring about Tyranny..." - I am sure we will all just go quietly into that night.  "keyboard resolve" will disappear under the onslaught of organized armed forces, civilian and military, as the personnel who make up those organizations are incapable of individual thought and follow, without question, the orders of their government officials.

Remember New Orleans indeed!  Police illegally, unconstitutionally, confiscating law abiding citizens weapons, their personal property, which also happened to be their means of exercising their God given right, a right recognised by our Constitution, to self defense!  Well, I tell you!  We really made that Government and their uniformed pawns pay for THAT transgression didn't we!

No, even this small group is divided.  Heck, we can't discuss our favorite rifle or caliber without arguing among ourselves.  How in the world do you think you can get half of the population of this country united in the overthrough of a tyrant!?  To our shame we will not even sell our rights cheaply, we will quietly stand by and let "them" take what remains of our rights from us.

Not only do I fear for the Republic, I fear the Republic is already lost...

With enough pressure, they will listen.  We have to do this constantly, like 45-70 said, be vigiliant about what is going on, then write, call, email, get your wives, friends and neighbors to do the same.  Write the letters your self, maybe type them, print them out, get friends, relatives and neighbors to sign them personally, then mail them all in.  Flood your congress critter and senators constantly.  If they want to get re-elected, they will eventually listen.  That is our only hope for now.  Remember Bill Clinton in 1993 tried to ram the liberal agenda down our throats, and America responded by electing Republicans to Congress and Senate.  Kept him at bay and made him move to the middle the rest of his term.  Congress balanced the budget under Newt Gingrich and Clinton got credit.  Bush screwed up what was handed to him.   He did however let the assault weapons ban expire and didn't reintroduce it.  Pray, pray, pray, write, write, write, call, call, call, email, email, email.  Keep the pressure up, especially to your guys who have dems and rinos elected.  Mine representative and Senators are very conservative, so I haven't any complaints, but you other guys have to really work at it.  We can't let the libs steamroll over us.  This not only goes for guns, but excessive spending, socialism, high taxes.  Everything.  It only takes 3% of the people to be highly active and it represents (to elected officials anyways) 50% of the people.  This is how gays, blacks, etc, get so much accomplished.  A 3% very highly active and vocal group of them.  Email petitions don't really work, it takes real paper petitions and real phone calls, and a flooding of emails.  An individual flood of letters works better than one letter with a petition.  It overwhelms the system.  Also, a flood of phone calls, emails, and letters to tv and radio stations constantly.  A flood of them to advertisers of these liberal tv and radio stations helps cut into their profits also if they cancel advertising.  MSNBC an NBC are two in particular we should not only boycot, but write, email and call them and their sponsers.  Type up letters and get your chruches, hunting clubs, gun clubs, family, friends, to sign these letters, and you mail it in for them.  Flood them.

America, as a Democracy died peacefully in her sleep yesterday, November 4, 2008 after a long battle with cancer. She was born on July 4th, 1776. Her parents were the Bill of Rights and The Constitution. For almost two centuries, she was a glorious woman who was revered and respected around the world. She was the most generous and caring woman in the history of the world and will be missed by millions of downtrodden souls who looked to her for a better life and freedom from tyranny. She was a godly woman for most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her founding fathers, millions of brave American soldiers who fought to keep her alive, freedom from tyranny, and the American Constitution.

America was first diagnosed with cancer in the early 1860's
and sought treatment for the cancer from Abraham Lincoln. In the ensuing years, the cancer tore at her fabric and radical Civil War therapy was begun. The treatment lasted for several years and weakened her physically, but did not dampen her spirit. After the treatment, she was cancer free for many years and regained her strength to the point that she was able to successfully fight two world wars and save millions from demented Dictators.

In the late 1930's America lapsed into a severe bout with depression. She went through some hard times, but typical of her resolute strength she survived and emerged even stronger. Wounded and bloodied, she became a savior to the rest of the world.

In the 1960's, the cancer came back and she was treated unsuccessfully by liberals, communists, and terrorists and hack politicians masquerading as Oncologists. In 1981, Mrs. America became a patient of Ronald Regan. Under his treatment and guidance, her cancer was put in remission, and America once again thrived as a Nation. She got that sparkle back in her eyes, and once again her children saw hope for her's and their future.

The cancer that had been in remission reared its ugly head once again in the 2000's, and this time the prognosis was not good. A new form of cancer was beginning to spread throughout Mrs. America's body. This cancer was characterized by secularism, radical liberalism, terrorism, anti-americanism, political correctness, the death of an objective press, and politicians who put themselves above the well being of their mother. In fact, those who were supposed to take care of their mother in her old age, were now guilty of gross negligence and abuse.

A grieving America cried out for those who were killing her children through abortions, to stop. Her cries and pleas for her unborn were ignored and she was scorned for wanting to see her unborn live.

Mrs. America's liberal cancer morphed into a deadly Socialist/Marxist cancer in 2008, and slowly began destroying her. On November 4, 2008, America died peacefully in her sleep as the election results showed that the Obama Cancer had finally took the life of this once brave and caring woman. May she rest in peace.

Slim Rem 7, you are so right.  The dems didn't stop blaming Bush for everything wrong constantly.  Now it is our turn.  I am conservative first, Republican second.  But they at least are middle of the road or right leaning.  After Obama is in office about 6 months.  Start blaming him for everything wrong and constantly repeat it over and over.  Contact your senators and representatives by writing, emailing and calling.  Don't let up.  They will eventually cave in.  I think he will only be a one term prez.  Like Carter.  I'm also looking forward to the next Ronald Reagan in 2012.
