cimarron lightning
« on: November 05, 2008, 05:48:02 AM »
I have been wanting this little gun for a super long time, now I figure is the perfect excuse to pick one up.

Ill be using it as a small game plinker and a short range coyote/coon gun (not my main purpose though), basically just going to carry it around for no specific purpose.

I am assuming that +p ammo is not good for this gun, but what other factory ammo will be good for larger animals yote being the largest. I  am going to reload for both my .357s and my .38spcls eventually, but until then I dont want to ruin a new gun by shooting too hot of a load.

Thanks

Dave

You won't be sorry! This is one of the most fun handguns I have ever owned and if circumstances were differant I would not have traded it in on the Montado. The fit, finish and action are very good. At least in mine. Nice crisp and light trigger right out of the box. The only fault (?) I could find is that the cylinder length being a bit short kept OAL of reloads close. If you buy it, it will quickly become a favorite carry because of it's size and quick handling. I really liked the ledged grip. With low recoil .38's it was no issue and brought it back on target quickly. Good luck.

Ive had a couple and there good guns but beware that if someting breaks there not a ruger and you will pay to have it fixed. My front sight blade on one fell off and it was obvious that it had been soldered pourly and they still wanted to charge me a 150 bucks to install it and reblue the barrel. I told them to send it back and for the same price clements shortened it to 4 5/8s and  installed a drift ajustable blade on it.

I just looked at the web site for the revolver.  Neat little package!  Also available in 41 Long Colt, now they have my attention.
