Rumblings
« on: November 05, 2008, 10:59:45 AM »
The rumblings have already started with the latest election results.  It is possible that every Article of the Constitution could come under attack.

It is advisable for you to do a couple of things.

1.  It would be prudent for you to buy all of the ammo and reloading supplies you figure you will ever need for every Caliber you own.   I am hearing rumors that the price of ammo could go UP about 800%.   Since your Bolt Action rifles are basically no good without ammo, you can spend a little now or alot more later.   If they can't get at your Guns, they will make it very, very expensive for you to use them.

2.  If you have your eye on a new Rifle, Shotgun or Handgun...  But it now and be happy you got it.

3.  If you aren't already a member of the NRA, now would be a good time to join.  I don't believe it will be long before your 2nd Amendment Rights come under attack and the NRA is there to help, but they need your help.   Over the years the NRA has taken the hit for you, now is the time to join and back them up.

If we all go about and buy a lifetime supply of ammo, I predict the price of ammo will go up 800%

Good Prediction, chickenlittle! It could happen that way, but I have to agree, now is for sure the time to join the NRA! They, and we, are going to need all the support available! With a stated goal of wanting to pass Federal Legislation to outlaw "right to carry" permits, we need a united group like a very strong NRA to back it up! Most people I know are going to stockup, but, not necessarly a lifetime's worth, just enough till the next election, we hope! BoomLover

I wouldn't buy a semi-auto, pump, or handgun right now.  The government won't be giving us much for them, and it's just money lost.  Reloading is a good idea but lead bullets and bullet containing lead will go away in the near future.  We won't be able to legally shoot or hunt with them.

Think before you buy.

I take it you are a gun dealer and sales are slow.   ;D

Seriously, I would like to read the "rumblings."  What are your sources? Are they reliable?

If you are an NRA member, try reading the magazine they send you.  If you are not an NRA member, don't post here.

Swampman

Obama won in large measure because a whole lot of people are sick to death of special interest politics.  You know the kind of crap we have been enduring since the 1960s where some group carves out an issue and claims to represent one side or other of that issue.  They drum up support from people like you and me by claiming they are representing us.  The engage in some kind of dance with folks who claim to represent the opposing side who also make their money by telling their folks they are representing them.  Nothing ever happens except the sheep (read you and me and the folks supporting the other side) are sheared annually.  Both of the special interest groups know that if they ever resolve the underlying problem they will have to go to work for a living.  To keep the sheep from losing interest they are forever claiming that the other side is ever more evil and unreasonable and the other side threatens the very existence of civilization as we know it.  All the sheep have to do to protect their rights is send ever more money to the special interest group.

Swampman, don't believe any political comment coming out of any long lasting special interest organization on any side of any issue.  They make their living lying to you and me.   Obama was elected because a lot of people are sick to death of the Washington special interest dancers who have dominated America since the 1960s.  A lot of people want to get some stuff done  and don't mind if some asshat lobbyists are put out of jobs.

I know you are going to take what I said the wrong way.  I am not singling out the NRA. They are just one of thousands of special interest groups making a great living off of our fears, but you will notice that none of the groups ever really solves any problem.  They won't as long as we are paying them.

Heller must have scared the crap out of the brass at the NRA.  crap, can't let the sheep know that some how we have really been successful.  Have to tell them that their rights are in greater danger than ever.  If we don't they won't send us any money.

Again don't think that I am singling out the NRA.  Every issue has two sides and the professional "advocates" on both sides make their living out of not solving a thing.   All they have to do is scare the crap out of the sheep.

Right, 11% of the population elected him.  Right, sure. Believe what you want.

Young people elected him. He beat the two best boomer political machines ever built.  The Clintons and the Rovian political machines have dominated America for the last 20 years. Both were based on the special interest, identity politics model I wrote about above.  They were manned by the professional lobbyists who make a living lying to us sheep.  The pro-abortion crowd. The anti-abortion crowd. All those asshats who have been accomplishing nothing for a generation.

I guess I am just naive, but I am tired of being a sheep.

10% more democrats voted in this election, than the last one.  I rest my case.  Even whites voted for hm because he's black.  He was the worst possible choice of all the canidates on both side, but still he won.

He was the worst possible choice because he wasn't dominated by the lobbyists.   They might have to go to work if we start solving problems.

He was the worst possible choice because he has never lead anything.  He has no experience.....period!

He's never been in the military......he's just a spoiled racist metrosexual.

He had enough experience to beat Rove and Clinton.

Lack of experience in Washington is a feature,  not a bug.  It is only a bug to the lobbyists who spend their lives courting politicians.

As to the "spoiled, racist metrosexual" line. I take it you know Obama personally.  If not you must have heard that line from somebody trying to scare your pants off, and you believed the professional liar.  Talk about naive.

Yes you are. You are afraid that your white racist homophobic social conservative protestant rural bunch no longer dominates America. Which is good.

Certainly not.  Not all liberals.  But a significant number of liberals do gravitate to those causes which many Americans find disturbing.  Characterizing it as fear isn't really correct either.

This thread isn't about bolt action rifles any more, so out of respect for the site I am done with this one.

I'll get it back on track:  Even though I am selling off just about all of my rifles, I do plan to stock up on ammo and maybe another rifle or two in the next little bit.

I ran out of IMR 4350 last night. I need to buy some more, not because I am afraid, but because I am shooting more.  I also am down to my last 4 6mm 100 grain btsp bullets.  I think I am going to buy a box of 70 grain instead.  I am also going to buy a can of IMR-4064 because I have a box of 150 grain spire points and a bunch of 30-06 cases that need to be reloaded.

If I survive current financial mess, I think I am going to buy a .223 next spring.  I guess you can say I am delaying my gun purchase out of fear, not because I am afraid of Obama, but because I am really afraid of my wife. She isn't letting me spend money on guns the rest of the winter.  She says my new 30-06 is enough for this year.  :)

I am hearing rumors that the price of ammo could go UP about 800%.

I doubt it. There is an economic slowdown. That will likely drive copper, lead, tin, and ammo prices down, not up.

I don't intend to debate little debate points with you.  The election is over.  I will be glad to discuss if you want to talk big picture or the future.  Otherwise,  tell the guys at headquarters that if they aren't into being part of the solution they are part of the problem.  You might tell them that they need to really solve whatever problem they have milked for the last 40-50 years.

I will say that Obama built his own machine with his own volunteers, often to the chagrin of Democratic party officials.  Obama might turn out to be as corrupt as the guys at your headquarters, but there are a whole lot of people coming on behind who are sick and tired of government for the special interests and by the special interests.  We are sick of being sheep and we don't want to be sheared by special interest liars ever again.  We just want to go back to work.

I think corruption is about to be redefined.  I've never seen it fail one single time.

There will be more scandals out of this administration than the Clintons produced during their debauched terms.

If Wall Street doesn't have any confidence in him, why did they give him money?

I am an investor.  Wall Street is tanking for a lot of reasons. My portfolio is down 30% for the year.  I expect it will go down a lot more.

If you haven't noticed there is a world wide recession going on.  The economy is in crisis.

These fools will witness change allright as will the poor souls that didn't vote for this idiot. I hope I am wrong very wrong saying that.
