There being to hard on her.

Fox’s Carl Cameron: Palin ‘didn’t understand that Africa was a continent.’

Think Progress
Thursday, Nov 6, 2008

Today, Fox News’ campaign reporter Carl Cameron unloaded some startling undisclosed reports of Sarah Palin’s incompetence that he had been given off-the-record on the condition they not be released until the conclusion of the campaign:

CAMERON: There was great concern in the McCain campaign that Sarah Palin lacked a degree of knowledgeability necessary to be a running mate, a vice president, and a heartbeat away from the presidency.

We are told by folks that she didn’t know what countries were in NAFTA — the North American Free Trade Agreement. That’d be Canada, the U.S., and Mexico. We’re told that she didn’t understand that Africa was a continent, rather than a series — a country just in itself. A whole host of questions that caused serious problems about her knowledgeability.
Cameron also disclosed that Palin “didn’t accept preparation” for the Katie Couric interview. Watch it:

As much as I like her, she was nowhere near ready, from what I've seen lately.
That also applies to Obama, though, as well.  He is absolutely no where near ready to lead anything.

Don't you just love politicians? Palin was the only thing energizing McCain's campaign. I doubt he would have received two thirds of the votes he did if she weren't on the ticket. Now his hacks start badmouthing her. No class at all.

McCain insiders are looking for new jobs. They blew the election and somebody has to be blamed. God knows, it wasn't THEIR fault. Cui bono?

I just think it would be easier to get a new job if you can find an excuse to make it look like you didn't fail miserably at your last job.

As far as I can tell the North American Free Trade Agreement doesn't include any countries at all!

Is Biden a mental wizard?  He has been wrong more than he has been right.

Alagore could not id a bust of Jefferson.

Just because one is elected to office doesn't mean they are more than mental midgets.

I think the RNC is afraid of Palin.  She represents main stream America, the people who have not had representation in years.

Wouldn't it be more important to report on what B. Hussein Obama knows, or believes.  What possible purpose would be served by reporting on hearsay from disloyal backbiters about Sarah Palin?

It's my opinion that it says a lot more about the reporter than it does about Sarah Palin.

Is it more important to know dates and history off the top of your head or be able to be given facts and make wise decisions ?
Did she have less exp. than some of the others that became president ?

Rush Limbaugh likes her. He and Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck can make another Teddy Roosavelt out of her if they choose.

I thought this kind of media smear would come I just didn't know how soon.   McCain's campaign manager bears the weight of Mac's loss on Tuesday.   He and his staff were outmaneuvered and outwitted by the Obama campaign all along the way. They had plenty of warning - just watching how BHO took on the Klinton machine.   But he dropped the ball numerous times.

Now that their failings are very evident they want to try and smear Sarah?    Sure the media is going to eat this up because they and the far-right Republicans fear her.   They are trying to build obstacles for Sarah to shine in the future.

I wish Sarah and all Alaskans the best for the next few years.  I am sure she will continue to take care of bidness up yonder,  and if ever we (the lower 48) are lucky enough to have her run again she will have my vote.

Come on, give her a break.  Anyone who has had geography and world history in grade school knows Africa is a Continent not a country.  Anyone who is asked a quick question can make a mistake.  Obama thinks there are 57 states.  Joe Biden put his foot in his mouth all the time.  McCain's people are just bitter that he lost and want to blame someone, and not him.  I've mis-stated some things before also.  Obama said "his Muslim religion".  Is this just a slip of the tongue or for real.  His slips are more critical.  There are 57 Muslim states.

Sarah knows there are 50 states and she never claimed to be a Muslim. She never hung around with terrorists, "hate America" preachers, Communist poets or Muslim America haters (Farrakhan) and she has always been proud of the USA and is a hunter & outdoor sportsman. If the "Metros" of the big cities can't handle her..that is their stupidity..perhaps after 3 or 4 years of socialism, some of them may be ready for a bit of "down-to-earthism"
The McCain handlers blew it..they tried the "country club" (TM would say Neo-con) ;)  route one more time and it has failed again, they tried to pretend to be "above the fray" while politics is a dirty, blood&mud  business. They really screwed up, so they are looking for a scape-goat. I am not ready to accept the idea from some pre-biased reporter, that Palin is less bright than any of the other three. In fact, the most important trait for any president is noble character, and Sarah has more than the other 3 put together.
Now of course, the Democrats realize just how appealing she is and are trying to neutralize her with their usual lies and innuendos.
I may be wrong, but it seems Rush & Hannity had little trouble with Palin (don't listen to the others)..but with McCain was much like the rest of us, only really endorsed him as a final effort to keep the Socialist/Marxists out of the White House.

The left wing of the Republican party is trying to hold on to their control of the party. Palin is a threat so they are trying to destroy her. If the party doesn't move to the right it will have no reason to exist and will die. I fully expect McCain to join the Democratic party - where he belongs.

If the Republican party doesn't get back to it's " right roots" it deserves to die. We don't need a Democrat and semi-Democrat party.
TM; I could be wrong, but I still do not recall either Rush or Hannity complaining about the Palin pick . As far as climbing upon the McCain wagon, I truly believe that both Rush and Hannity as well as many of us came on board with the McCain ticket..only with the advent of Palin and as a means of keeping the Marxist out !

....Really, the day after the Palin announcement these guys chewed up McCain's choice of Palin....they were dumb founded and shocked at the choice.  I heard it with my own ears on radio during a trip that day.  Remember too, that Hannity and Rush-ball knocked McCain alot before he was chosen.  The next day they got their talking points and went into spin control mode to decry his choice....a remarkable 180 I thought, but I knew they would do that. Funny how they all get on board with things via The Party.

...TM7

Are you sure "decry" is the word you meant to use?

TM7, you're full of crap as usual.  Hannity was an advocate of Gov. Palin going way back and I sure never heard Rush say anything bad about her.  I can't say about the other conservative common taters, but who gives a crap.

As much as I would like for Sarah, or someone like her to be the candidate someday, I'd much rather that she have a nice life and not be put through the meat grinder.

All I need in a leader, is for someone to hit terrorists where they lay , keep my taxes low , veto all pork in spending , and not to mess with the constitution !!!! Unfortunately our politicians have never seen a bill they didn't like . If McCain would have came out against the bail out, he would be the next president . Over 80% of us were against it . At least a  SPRINKLE OF OBAMA can pay my mortgage , relieve ringworm and cure cancer , did I miss anything ??

Boys. I really hate too say it---I REALLY HATE TOO SAY IT---so bad---TM is correct and I will deny I said this if it is ever brought up again.
Palin is a stand up guy, yes I said guy, and she did not make many of the blunders given credit too her.
She is not in favor with the RNC because she will not bow too their authority and because she ignors their pleas to ease up on Stephens, much less her ex-BIL.
She is a straight shooter--not much politcal mush in her vocabulary.
soap box is clear.

You said it Bill..straight shooter. Her decency and character is far above the Washington DC milieu... and most statehouse standards. The usual politicians and their sycophants would have trouble dealing with her. She deals honestly.
As far as the Couric  questioning..Sarah hesitated answering some of those questions from her simply because many of them were "When did you stop beating your kids ?" type questions. She would lose either way.
Strange how thwe media picked up on that hesitancy, but not on the meeting where Bama claimed that many of the veterans that died in wars were at that same meeting..
Gee..I wonder if they were from all 57 states ?   See what I mean ?
