I just bought an older Ruger RSI full mannlicher stock used in 7x57.  Sure, I have a bunch of other deer calibers.  I got rid of all my magnum stuff 20 years ago as I hunt in the woods in VA.  Never shot a deer more than 100 yds away and 90% have been less than 50 yards.  I have a feeling the 7x57 will become my favorite deer rifle for general firearms season where noise is not a concern.
My other favorite deer rifle a suppressor mounted 300 Whisper with a 225 grain Outlaw State Bullets subsonic cranking along quietly with zero recoil at 1050 fps and a little less than 600 fpe. Makes about the same noise as a pellet rifle.   Head shots up close and the deer fall over in their tracks. At 100 yds the big bullets expand and roll through a deer's chest exiting the other side.  Tiny shell is made by necking out a .221 fireball case to .308 diameter.  Moral is, you don't need alot to kill a deer in the hunting environment where I hunt.  The 300 whisper was developed specifically to be used by military special forces shooting suppressed rounds to quietly eliminate bad guys in covert operations.  It also works extremely well for shooting deer in Suburbia from tree stands.
