When bullets containing lead are outlawed, what are you going to do with it?

Defy the ban, just like I'll defy their other gun grabbing schemes.  The Obamanation will have a huge problem on their hands when they attempt to push gun control.  It will be worse than Prohibition, and their attempt will fail.

I heard on a local radio show that homeless shelters across the nation were pulling dear meat from their menus because someone "suggested"(no scientific research to back this up or even demonstrate it as a slight possibility) that the led in bullets were contaminating the meat with led poisoning.  ::)  Oh well more for me!  ;D

Heather;
That is the latest scam by the antis. Never heard of anyone getting poisoned by the lead used to kill an animal, and besides any meat cutter worth his name cuts out an discards the meat that is pulverized around the wound channel. Obviously the antis are trying to ban the use of lead, so hunting becomes much more costly and inconvenient. first they used the California condor, now they are trying to use the homeless. Nothing new, pretty soon the libs will try to use "the children"..they always do.
We, as hunters had best start organizing over the internet and deciding what we are going to do, should the socialist/Marxists start demanding what we don't want to give them...our guns, our rights, our freedom.

Well, I'm trying to get at least one ammo can full for everything I own. The 45/70 and 300wm are really stressing the budget, but pistol calibres mean putting off shooting a couple times but buy like I am.  The AR may get two cans full before I'm comfortable, same with 20 ga. Another thing I am thinking of is buying bullets and primers and powder to be able to reload far into the future. They may well make ammo prohibitively expensive but not illegal, in which case a sighted in big game rifle with 500rds properly stored will last generations. A high quality air rifle may be the next plinker.

Many times the lead comes from someone shooting the deer with bird shot or a .22 rifle.  Later on when it's actually harvested the pellets/bullets are ground up in the meat.  Please don't ever head shoot big game.

well bird shot or a 22 would be a last resort of course. however the only deer ive ever head shot were with a 243 or a 06.oh and none of them ever ran off to be "actually"harvested by anyone else.my moniker may be hillbill but my iq is well into the 3 digit area. although my typing does leave a alot to be desired.lol yuall have a fun night!!!!

not me.  nothing.  my truck was broken into and they took every gun i had, but i never bothered to report it because with the kids around and all, i didnt want a gun in or around the house anyway.  saved me the trouble of getting rid of all of them.    let alone ammunition.

As I don't shoot store bought ammo sans 22/17RF. I am focusing on reloading components. More specifically Powder and primers...

I bought a couple thousand dollars of reloading components starting last spring through Oct.  I had it stored in town until I could have enough room in the boat and bring it all home.  When I transferred it from the travel boat to the shore boat, somehow I dropped all of it in the ocean in about 150' of water.  Lost the whole shipment.  Now I'll have to wait until I can gather up some more taxable dollars instead of the loose change I used.

None of this will work.  They will ask nicely.  Then they will ask at gun point.  I have a wife that needs me to take care of her.  I can't go to jail.

If you can't ever shoot them, and you can't hunt with them.....what's the point in having them?

IF the day comes they come for them you will basically have two choices. Comply or die. You might chose not to comply and take a few with you but make no mistake the end result will be the same. The only decision to make is what ya gonna do IF/when that day comes. Ya can't really hide them. Don't kid yourself on that matter.

Hell, when we eat rabbit, dove, or squirrel someone usually finds a piece of shot here or there.  You're just supposed to spit it back out on the plate.

My Dad used to hunt squirrel & rabbits with a shotgun..I hated biting onto pellets, especially those that dragged fur in with them ! That's one reason why I only hunt with a rifle now. Yep!..I pass up the birds, because the law says I can't "rifle" them..but if it were a matter of survival..either would work.

if they make them illegal , why not just pick up and head out into the woods or mountains and live off the land ??     i know there's a lot of gun owners but i don't think there'de be all that many who would resist the authorities so the woods wouldn't be all that crowded . you know , go underground ???

BTW-don't you think we should watch somewhat of what we post on here just in case someone is watching and taking notes ???

Their will more than likely be a pattern, don't think they can start every where at
the same time. It is like GB said you will have to decide what you want to do.
if the start in big cities some will have more time to decide.
What happens after they take the guns is what bothers me.

I'm not buying ammo & reloading supplies because I fear that it'll all get taken away.  I'm buying what I can now because I am speculating that the price of everything is going to skyrocket with our new president.

I don't think President Obama will take away all our guns, just some of the ones we find to be the most fun for target shooting like AR-15's, AK's, & SKS's.

I'm not buying any ammo or reloading supplies for my 30-30 or 44mag.  I don't think I need to.  I may buy some more reloading components for my 30-06, but that's just to avoid the price hike on match bullets.

There's nothing wrong with owning guns and using them responsibly, but people have got to quit thinking that the whole world is going to end.  If you think the world is going to end, get right with the big guy upstairs and don't waste your time with the guns!  You can't take the guns with you.
