Dont roll the dice.  Give red Jacket fire arms a call I know he has 3 amd-65's for sale. They will be one of the best you can own with a 5 year unlimited warrenty. You will like the Amd. They are lite weight and they handle good. Not the best check weld with the wire stock, but they were not made for 800yard scoped shots. ;D my 11yo baby girl can shoot up milk jugs full of water with mine. The forward grip helps add to the control.

Get what you can now.  Stock up on spare parts, extra magazines and ammunition, sight the thing in and let it sit for when you need it. if you advertise owning such a gun you will simply stand out more and make yourself an easier target for confiscation.

And get a good gun, one that is solid and reliable from the start, and forget about 5 year warranties.  Have you forgotten that one tenet of gun control, that has already been passed, is to require every gunsmith to list and identify any firearm brought for service???

So yeah, you have had it for years and maybe nobody knows about it and maybe the paperwork that had to be completed has been destroyed and maybe nobody knows about it but, if you bring it in for service somewhere they will register that the firearm was brought in for service and who owns it.

The thing to do is buy on the private market and stash it.  JMTCW.

The AMD-65 has the folding stock which is currently acceptable.  Mine was built prior to 2004 and sunset of the Ban.  I can mirror as said above and say "buy".  I love it.  It is an AK-47 action in a Hungarian build.  The whole deal lies in which receiver was used in the build process.  I prefer to buy a kit and then have it built.....since the ban on barrels this has increased the costs.

I would also recommend--if you can find one the AMD-63.  Doesn't have the folding stock but I DO prefer the 63 better.  Of course the wooden buttstock is short as all AK's but it seems shorter than most.  The wire folder on the 65 just doesn't seem to fit my shoulder well.......but then again it doesn't get pulled up to my shoulder all that often :)

The Hungarians seem to hold very decent accuracy as well.  Aim is a top notch outfit.  The Polish Tantal listed 2 spots above would also be a fun little popper...never did get one but should have.  Tenesee guns has a good rep as well as AIM.

Go buy one or two!   I highly doubt you will LOSE money in the next few years!!!
