Yes, he is isn't he. I think if I were in a survival situation and he was there also, the first thing I would do would be to kill and cook HIM. It would be about the only way I could view him as useful.  ;D

No, when I first saw him advertised, I thought; Alright! An interesting and useful show on TV. That would indeed be refreshing.
AFTER I watched him once, I realized he was full of tumble bug food, and was a waste of time, just like the rest of TV.

Don't confuse Les Stroud "Survivorman", with that freaking idiot Bear Grylls in "Man vs Wild!! I've never seen Les Stroud drink urine, Grylls does it all the time, he must enjoy it! ::)

I watched Stroud two or three times, and came to the conclusion that he does some stupid stuff too.

These shows are for pure entertainment only, not survival.

yooer77, that's true. I suppose I have gotten old and dull, and just would like to watch something that was useful and factual. For some odd reason I think I would find that entertaining and useful.

Disregarding some of the details on the show, Stroud's Survivorman does point out that the best method to survive is stay put, keep dry, and find water.  He takes a more simple, safe approach that would definately be better than what you will see on Man vs  Wild.

I don't need to know which type of lizard tail I can eat if stranded in Ecuador, but to be reminded to stay dry and hydrated until rescue is good advice.


(I know "stay dry and hydrated" in the same sentence sounds wrong, but you know what I mean  ;) )
