Thanks for the tip, guys. I just ordered one. I have a Handi 45-70 with the camo laminted straight stock on it, so I won't have to buy a forearm. I shot a few rounds thru it at the range to get ready for deer season and it shot great.

Thanks for the tip. Today I ordered two cinamon thumb hole stocks from Boyd's and two forearms from Brownells.

Well I just had to go to Boyd's and look...and they still had the stocks in stock so I just had to buy on at 1/3 the price I paid a few weeks ago for one. The boys gonna be excited when he finds out what he going to help me build is for him for a good report card. I'll string him along for awhile first

Poor Remington.
By the time they notice that green forends are outselling green buttstocks 4:1 and order extra forends to compensate, Boyds will have sold all their NEF stocks and the demand for forends will dry up.

Forearm came to day from brownells all I need now is the butt stock which should be here on Monday of next week:
I see the spacer are not blued and it had no swivel stud otherwise no complaints

Are you talkin about a steel forearm spacer?

Do the forearms from Brownells come with a forearm spacer?

They come with the same plastic spacer as always, it's just a funky matte gray color until you add oil to darken it. $:-\$

Got mine on Wednesday last. Looks good from a visual. Had the stock bolt, but not a QD stud. Has the thick recoil pad installed, and less than $40 delivered. Packaged better than I usually see from Boyd's. Hae to unbolt & rebolt and see how it fits.

Mine came in today, but I got stuck really bad in the 4 wheeler down in the red river.

Could not pull it out with the other guys atv, went to lunch and then took a chain, strap, and come-along to pull it out.

By then I was too tired to go get it at the local drop off place.

Have to go to a cousins memorial service tomorrow, so probably won't get it until Monday.

Oh well, always good to have something to look forward to.

I read that Brownells has the camo lam checkered forends and NEF has the smooth one per quick. Can I just call up NEF and order one? If so whats the part # please? Thanks -g

The part numbers listed on the 2007 Retail Parts Price list in the FAQs should still be good, the checkered stuff isn't on the price list.

Thanks quick. I have two stocks now and a checkered forearm. I want a smooth one to complete another Handi when purchased. I have one Handi and two (almost) extra sets of furnature for future upgrades.
Looking on the 2007 list, it shows
Camo Laminate checkered butt is part number R02464 $66.90 and forend S02413 $31.87
Is forend# S02413 a plain one?

No, that would be the checkered forend, the plain stocks and forends are listed on the price list itself, not the page with all the additions.

i just ordered the same stock you guys got today, and received confirmation email so it sounds like they still have them in stock...mine was listed under "weekly blowout" and i will also be in the hunt for a forend....

Yes, read the description and technical specs under the pic.

The one I got so far looked like someone touched it to a sander a little too much in the grip near the mounting face, there was no finish on the spot, but a little oil rubbed onto it made it almost invisible and it fits fine, good enough for me to order another!!

They aren't listed on the H&R site, only some of the butt stocks are listed on the acc barrel page, the forends are only listed on the 2007 Retail Parts Price list in the FAQs and Help sticky.

ARGH Shipping to Hawaii (they only use UPS) costs more than the stock itself, oh the joys of living in paradise.

All ready to buy until I saw that. I guess I'll stick with my factory stock.

tim: the butt stock came to day it almost like you stated someone a sander a little too much in the grip near the mounting face:otherwise it looks good to me .

I just got mine, I can see nothing wrong with it, it looks as good as the two factory stocks I have, came with the Decelarator pad, but no stock bolt or sling stud, $34.40 shipped.
