I am only four years into the handgun hunting but can really relate to what you are saying because those handguns are so handy & accurate for the deer hunting as compared to having to shoulder
A rifle (perhaps I have just grown lazy
) Seems like my Vaqueros or my SBH just appear in my hand of their own accord lined out & ready to go once you identify the subtle noise of a deer moving in.
I did put a Dot type of scope on the Super for this year but it is more for our late doe only season and the longer shots and perhaps some fun with those Coyotes.
