I had never really looked at them till your post. Which one did you get? I looked at one on sportsman guide. They look really handy. How about a pict with you in it, with a rifle? I have a pop up blind and dont care for it. Not really enough room. Thanks

I am going to have some kind of blind for next hunting season, I've taken up the crossbow. One thing I am looking for is weather protection. I can't sit long before I get cold, and I don;t want to be bundeled to like the Michilin Man. Will a chair blind keep the weather at bay?

The one i have is called the scout and i think it will help with the wind and maybe a modorate rain, have used a pop up called the dog house before and it helped a lot with the weather.

The pop up blind have is the one like a dome tent. But it is a smaller one. I think if I bought another it would be one of the bigger pop ups. As far as weather, mine does keep the wind and rain off of you. Plus you can fidget around a little and not be noticed.

My understanding is that pop-ups move in the wind and can be hard to fold up, but are light weight for their size. Hub tents are heavier, but are rigid in the wind, and are a little more straight forward when it comes time to fold them up.

you would be better served with a full blind. I looked at the chair blinds and they don't have much room for anything.
the full size blinds you have a lot more room for your stuff and move around.

I have a blind I got from dicks for around $60 and did a little modifications to it.
I put an old camo poncho over the top to keep it 98% dry in the heaviest rain
I bought a few of the screw in dog yard holders. the ones you screw in the ground and attach the dogs chain to so it can run around. it keeps the blind on the ground in the heavy winds.
I bought some tent stakes and use them on the inside to hold the walls down.

my blind doesn't move much in the wind but even if it does that is OK because so is all the other brush that is around me.

i used one for the first time this turkey season.. it is the sportsman all in one 2 person chair blind with the 3d leaves on it.  it was well made. very comfortable for them style chairs.  my mom and i stayed perfectly dry sitting in a drizzling rain and hunting turkey from it... or at least she did .. i fell asleep..lol  maybe too comfortable..

my downfall with it was the weight.. it comes in a duffle style carry case..not sure the exaxt pounds but i have neck problems and carrying this thing hurt me .. unfortonatly i don't see myself using this at the places i wanted to.. i may look towards getting me a pop up blind..

however ... the chair itself was very nise , screen windows, pouches for calls ex.ex., a table with cup holders in the middle of the chairs, side windows were a little far back  could see out them but no way to shoot threw them but front had about 160 veiw of clear shooting area,.. could push shooting 180 degreas by sitting forwards...

over all i would sit in it for hunting anything if i could get it to and from without hurting myself..

I'm not laughing at you I'm laughing with you,
                             Your just not laughing.......

Ever notice the deer we get is always smaller
                              than the deer we saw..??.lol
