Is a Ruger SR9 9mm any good?

When the Ruger SR9's came out I read great reviews about them and they were selling for around 500-600.  Then there was a recall and I see them selling for less than $400.  What gives?  Are the ruger SR9 handguns worth buying?

There was/is a big recall on them---if you get one with the Glock-like trigger---you should be ok.
